Iridesco Watercooler
We are Iridesco, and this is our blog. We are the guys behind Harvest and Co-op. Iridesco was born in 2003, and we now operate in downtown New York City. People who speak here: Danny Wen, Shawn Liu, Dee Zsombor, and Barry Hess.Below you will find the things that have caught our attention in design, business, art and culture.
Our friends, the magnificent Cuban Council, have launched Aliens Vote, a website for non-citizens (there are 29 million of them) to vote for the upcoming presidential election. We aske Mike Buzzard of CC a couple of questions about Aliens Vote: Can you tell us a little bit about the development of the project? The idea for the project came from one of our creative directors. It took about 233 hours (according to Harvest) and it was built on the Django 1.0 framework offered by Media Temple (Django is a Python-based web development framework). ‘Aliens’ is such a strange word to use. I thought you guys were talking about, like, Roswell aliens. Why that word? Not to bludgeon you with semantics, but check out definition #1, my friend. |
